a kind of crash course on who i am!

hey, it's me!

>> anri (you probably knew that by now)

>> 20s

>> he/they/any

>> i like to draw, read, play games, listen to music, write, basically anything that gets me going creatively i will love it

>> unapologetically a hermit online

a big list of things that i like

this is probably the easiest way to get to know me. after all, i do have this great tendency to make things i am/was fixated with as my personality trait 'v'

books >>

percy jackson and the olympians >> proud to be an og since the first series <3

daughter of smoke and bone >> fundamentally changed my brain chemistry in high school

the picture of dorian gray >> this one is my pretentious classic book pick. also fundamentally changed my brain chemistry in high school

games >>

the elder scrolls >> oblivion and skyrim mainly, but 10000% skyrim is my absolute favorite game ever it's not even funny. i was THAT kid that drew the entire skyrim map on my table in class. skyrim is the game i always come back to when i just need something. i have thousands of hours combining my ps3 and pc hours.

final fantasy >> i haven't played the entire franchise - that's way too much money and time to spend - but the ones that have had a great deal of influence on me in my past and now are a handful:

soulsborne >> more specifically, 3 and bloodborne

armored core 6 >> I LOVE AC6 SO SO MUCH I WANT TO PLAY THE OTHER AC GAMES SO BAD

fire emblem >> especially awakening and fates. my hot take is that the conquest plot DOES make sense and i will die on this hill. also #marriedtochrom4lyfe

monster hunter >> started with freedom unite on the psp, got traumatized by getting attacked by tigrex while minding my business in the snowy mountains, and loved the game from then on. i'm one of those really annoying charge blade mains that think they know everything. that's because i do (JOKE) main game: 4 ultimate

minecraft >> probably the epitome of creative freedom in a game, which i love. definitely a game that's been with me through ups and downs.

sky: children of the light >> carried me and my sanity through the pandemic. sanctuary moths RISE UP

mother/earthbound >> haha remember when mother 4 was gonna be a thing

rpg maker >> yume nikki, OFF. not much of the others honestly, since these two took up my entire attention.

touhou >> an honest to god hfx i had during middle school. top favs are eosd / subterranean animism / imperishable night. i'm not original

overwatch >> ONE ONLY. two is dead to me. nyxl married man meta forever

need for speed most wanted (ps2) >> probably THE game to get me into the jdm scene without me even knowing it and why i love the aesthetic appeal of modded cars. a comfort game of mine!

undertale >> if u knew me during my freshman / sophomore year of high school you know i was insanely annoying with this one

music >>

to be honest, i'm more of a soundtracks kind of person, but there are a handful of artists i have to give kudos to:

yeah i did have a kpop phase:

and in terms of composers:

anime + manga >>

shoutout to this amv for introducing me to a good chunk of the anime that i ended up loving when i was younger. thanks i guess. (also jesus christ i can't believe it's still up)

also, while making this list, i realized just how much miyuki sawashiro has been in my life and i think that's insanely hilarious

naruto >> of the "big three" shounen shows at the time, this was the one that i was very much into the most when i was young and what i grew up with. can i interest you in some ninja info ca- [gets shot]

wedding peach >> i remember getting the first volume of the manga at a borders when i was small and absolutely loving it. i never watched the anime, but this one was my intro to shoujo stuff (it was never sailor moon sorry buds)

death note >> probably should have not been reading this in 5th grade. i remember being so jealous of a friend that had the black edition volumes

rosario + vampire >> ABSOLUTELY should not have been reading this in 5th grade

mirai nikki >> REALLY SHOULD HAVE NOT BEEN WATCHING THIS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL

lucky star >> the cornerstone of my early anime history. i always always put this on whenever i just need some good vibes.

to aru kagaku no railgun >> misaka mikoto you will always be famous <3 i've never watched index lol

clannad >> the first anime to tear my heart out at the tender age of 10

black rock shooter (ova) >> another thing i was so obsessed with in middle school that it singlehandedly make me love the color blue for a time + i drew stars on EVERYTHING i owned. this ova + the song it came from literally is a foundation of the person i am today. the music, the VIBES, the aesthetics, everything about it (yes even the plot idc)!! i'm a brs ova only purist as i wasn't really a big fan of the actual anime when it finally came out (ALSO FUCK U SANS BRS DID THE FIRE EYES FIRST AUGH)

memories of phantasm >> literally started my entire love for touhou back then because i really liked reimu's design when i saw clips when this was still being made. i was there when they released this damn thing piece by piece from the start (another shoutout to a summer day's dream <3)

so what's with the personal site anyway? why not make a [insert social media here]

here are several reasons why, kept simple:

why not host in neocities?

i kind of wrote about this here already, but for brevity's sake:

"...i still do love participating in the old web - i'd just rather do it from the sidelines where people other than the ones close to me won't really notice. i don't want another fixation on views. i've had enough of that in the past. i'm just here to do my own thing heehoo"

socials and other things (oh the irony)

dead accounts

these are my accounts for these particular sites. they don't see any use anymore and are kept for only username purposes. you will literally find me nowhere else in these sites other than these with accounts - if you somehow do, it's 99% not me.

site credits

while 99.99999% of this site was built from the ground up by yours truly, there are some things here and there that were of not my own making.
